Quy tắc thêm s, es đối với danh từ

- Chủ yếu các từ khi chuyển số ít sang số nhiều sẽ thêm s: Cat - Cats, house - houses

- Với những từ kết thúc là  s, x, z, ch, sh thì khi chuyển sang số nhiều thêm đuôi “es”. Ví dụ: time - times, box - boxes, bus- buses...

- Với các từ kết thúc là “y” thì khi dùng với số nhiều, bỏ “y” và thêm đuôi “ies”. Ví dụ như: baby - babies, spy - spies, penny - pennies....

- Còn một số danh từ bất quy tắc: woman - women, man - men, child - children, tooth - teeth, foot - feet, person - people, leaf - leaves....

- Hay một số danh từ không chia: sheep - sheep, fish - fish, deer - deer, species - species. aircraft - aircraft...

Quy tắc thêm s, es khi chia động từ

- Với những động từ từ kết thúc là  “o”, “ch”, “sh”, “x”, “s” thì khi chuyển sang hoặc dùng với ngôi số ít, thêm đuôi “es”. (do – does; go – goes; watch – watches;  wash - washes, house - houses )

- Với từ kết thúc là “y” thì khi dùng chia theo ngôi số ít, bỏ “y” và thêm đuôi “ies” (copy – copies; worry - worries, study – studies)

- Với các từ còn lại, thêm đuôi “s”. (wants, see – sees…)

Quy tắc thêm ed khi chia động từ

- Các từ được thêm ed khi chia ở thì quá khứ đơn

- Trừ một số trường hợp theo động từ bất quy tắc.

II. CÁCH PHÁT ÂM S, ES

Trước khi bước vào chi tiết từng cách đọc s, es thì chúng ta cần tìm hiểu về âm hữu thanh và vô thanh. Với mỗi kiểu kết thúc khác nhau thì sẽ được chia theo s,es riêng.

Cụ thể:

- Âm hữu thanh là những âm mà khi đọc bạn sẽ rung cổ họng

- Âm vô thanh là âm khi đọc không sẽ rung cổ họng.

es dùng cho động từ khi phải để ở ngôi thứ 3(he,she,it)

ed dùng cho động từ khi phải chỉ quá khứ,câu bị động

I love to draw, so every time I go away from home, my father buys me some pencils. The pencil I just bought this time is beautiful.

This pencil is just as ordinary as any other pencil. Its length is about a glove. The pen body is round, about the size of her little finger, about an adult's arm length. The body of the pen is made of wood, painted with alternating red and green stripes, the paint is very glossy. On top of the paint there was an inscription in shiny golden emulsion: "Hanson". The new pen, both ends flat, looks very sharp. Looking at any end, you can see in the middle of the wood is a black lead. I use the pencil sharpener to cut the wood. The blade turns slightly, I hear the soft "rust ... rust ..." sound. Each wood crust flows out according to the blade sharpened and twisted round, smooth silk. I sharpen it until it shows that the nib is long enough to use, because the nib is too long to break easily. I try the first pen strokes. The drawing pen is very happy. The lead is not too soft but not too hard, the lead is black, very sharp.

I secretly thank dad. With that pencil, I drew very nicely the pictures of the problem, my favorite pictures. I keep and cherish the pen a precious thing
