Dear Timmy:
You know, it’s funny, for as long as we’ve known each other, we’ve spent very little time actually around each other. But I really wanted to tell you how much the time we’ve spent together has meant to me, and I also wanted to say thank you.
We don’t really think about it much, but the words “thank you” can accomplish so much and can convey more than one could possibly imagine.
Thank you for being one of the first people to be nice to me in elementary school. I think you saw the fear in my eyes when I showed up at a new school where most of you had kind of grown up around each other. You hung out with me on the playground and would always invite me to play games with you at recess.
Thank you for always being the same back then, no matter what. I sadly hit my popular peak in fifth grade, and even though we were in the same class we didn’t talk so much. That was my fault and I’m sorry.
While I was feeling the joy of being popular, you were being labeled as troublemaker — and worse, a lost cause — by the very adults that were supposed to be guiding us, teaching us, nurturing us. No child should be made to feel that way.

3. As for me I spent a week in Turkey. I took the plane in Paris
and flew for three and a half hours to Izmir. There a woman
was waiting for us to drive us by bus to Kusadasi (pronounced
kouchadaseu). She is a French woman who married a Turkish
man five years ago. She is from Lievin, in the North of France.
She confessed that her husband followed her to France but
he didn't get used to the weather. It was a bit too wet and
too cold for him. So, they went back to Turkey. He then
became the manager of a hotel (not the one we went to) and
she started working for a holidays group at the hotel where
we went.
We arrived in the afternoon at the hotel which is based very
close to the sea. How wonderful it is to have meals almost on
the beach, listening to the waves and looking at the sun
downing in the evening. We could have a glass, then go to the
beach and as soon as we were thirsty come back to the bar
and have another glass before swimming a little. It was very
comfortable. I loved it.
Concerning the site, it was very beautiful. The beach was in
front of us and on the right side, we had a view on the
mountains. We even took a boat to some little beaches on the
edge of these mountains. The water was like a warm bath.
And you'd say, what about Turkish people? They are really
nice. They don't speak a lot of French, but if you can speak English, I assure you you can spend good time with them. I
had the feeling that they didn't know what to do to please us.
I have never met so nice people. I advise you to go there,
really, you'll come back with so many souvenirs in your minds.

Dear [friend],
I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits. I thought it would be nice to share with you how I usually spend my weekends.
One of my favorite activities is reading. I find it incredibly relaxing and a great way to unwind after a busy week. Whether it’s a novel, a self-help book, or an interesting article online, I always make sure to dedicate some time to reading.
I also enjoy going for long walks. It’s a simple activity, but it allows me to clear my mind and appreciate the beauty of nature. Sometimes, I take my camera along and indulge in a bit of photography. Capturing the world around me through the lens is truly a joy.
Cooking is another activity that I’ve grown to love. Experimenting with different recipes and flavors is exciting. Plus, the satisfaction of creating a delicious meal from scratch is unparalleled. I often try out new recipes I find online or from cookbooks.
Lastly, I make sure to catch up with friends and family. Whether it’s a quick phone call, a video chat, or meeting up for a coffee, staying connected with my loved ones is important to me.
These activities not only help me relax but also provide a sense of fulfillment. I believe it’s essential to do things we love and enjoy, especially during our downtime. I hope this gives you a glimpse into my weekend routine.

Topic 2: write a letter to your friends about your party last weekend
Dear John,
I'm very happy when I received your letter. I'm writing this letter to tell you about the party I went last week. That was my best friend birthday party.
Huong is my close friend. She turned 25 recently and her parents held a birthday party for her. I was one of those invited. The party began at about three in the afternoon. There were about twenty guests gathered in her house. We were all dressed in our best clothes. Everyone, especially Huong was very happy. We gave our presents to her and she happily opened them. It must really be exciting to receive all those presents. After that her mother served us soft drinks and delicious titbits. We then played some games like "Musical Chairs" and "Treasure Hunt". The winners were given prizes. At about four-thirty her father brought out the birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated with pink and white ice cream. 25 colorful candles sat in the middle of the cake. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Huong after which she blew out the candles and cut the cake. Everyone clapped out hands eagerly. We helped ourselves to slices of the delicious cake. Then we continued our games.
Finally at about six in the evening the party came to an end. We were all tired but happy. I helped Huong and her parent clean up the mess we made. After that I walked home with a very good feeling .

Topic 3: you have just moved to a new house. Write a letter to your friend about your new house.
Dear Helen,
I’m just writing to let you know that I shifted to a new house two weeks ago.
I had been awaiting promotion for a long time and now I have been promoted as a branch manager in the newly opened branch of my company. The new office is a long way away from the house where I lived before. The long commute made me very tired and so I decided to move to a new place.
I’m now living in a fully furnished brand new house. It has a large living room, a modular kitchen, two cosy bedrooms and especially a spacious parking area. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, which I love the most. The balcony is very attractive and it is the place where I relax after a long busy day. The rent is quite high; nevertheless, I am comfortable living here because of the easy access to office and other amenities.
So, when are we going to meet up? If you have time next weekend please come with your family. We will have lunch and spend some quality time together. You can also take a look at my new house.
