Trong quá khứ, trẻ con từng tự mình tìm những trò vui thú. Chúng hoạt động thể chất rất nhiều ngoài trời: chơi bóng đá, đi xe đạp, thả diều,... Trẻ con từng dùng thiên nhiên như là sân chơi của mình.
