I think helping others is what everyone should do, depending on their ability. You do not have to do as big a deal as a charity project or help each day, but help whenever possible.

Try to put yourself in the shoes of the hard-working people, and you will see how much they need help. Their life is not only material but spiritual.

I regularly participate in activities that help people in need, especially women and children, as this is the subject that needs the most support.

Last year, when I came to Hanoi for Christmas, I followed a friend who brought warm clothes and charity rice to the wanderers.

I remember the night was very cold, we met a woman holding a small child sitting on the street at about 1 am. After being given a coat and rice, she took my hand and cried. The child falls asleep on his mother's shoulder. I can not speak Vietnamese, but through my eyes and my hand, I know she is very grateful.

Look at the eyes of the poor. Each of them will have their own stories or live in different countries, but the pain in their heart is the same - it is anxiety, selflessness and loss of hope in life.

On special occasions during the year such as holidays, Tet, let's share more because this is the moment when you see the difference between "happiness" and "misfortune" most clearly. When you have enough money to shop, have a place to go and have people close by, the poor still have to make a living.

For them, every day is a war of survival. This contrast is a very sad fact. So let the people less fortunate than themselves have fun in the holidays, Tet. Happiness is the happiness that is duplicated.

There are a lot of disadvantages of living in a big city, air pollution is among the most serious problems. Firstly, air pollution comes from the factories in the city. Big cities attract a lot of both inside and outside investments, so the number of factories is increasing quickly. This makes the air extremely polluted by smoke from factories. Secondly, that there are too many transportation means also makes this problem worse. Exhaust from cars, motorbike is one of the factors that make the air polluted. To conclude, air pollution, which contributes to making more and more people get many serious diseases, such as lung cancer, tuberculosis and so on, is a big drawback of city life.

Tet Holiday is the biggest annual celebration of Vietnam in the first days of lunar New Year. During these days, people welcome a new coming year with good health, lucks and success. Tet holiday is very special for Vietnamese families to reunite and celebrate together.

The preparation for Tet holiday is taken place very soon because it requires many steps. All members of families clean and redecorate their houses together. Then, they buy food, drink such as cookies, sweets, candied fruit, melon seeds...to offer their guests and to store because in this occasion, many shops are closed. A branch of peach flower or a kumquat tree cannot be absent from every home during these special days. Children are the most eager, as their parents will buy them new clothes. In addition to buying things, many Vietnamese families make Chung cake, pickled onion, frozen meat, which are our country's traditional food on Tet holiday. We decorate ancestral altars with a five-fruit tray, vegetables, sweets, and flowers.

In the last day of the previous year, people become more excited as they feel that the New Year is very near to them. Everybody all waits for the sacred moment when the clock points 0 am and fireworks light up everywhere to wish for health, lucks and happiness in the next year. Streets are extremely crowded. On contrary, in the first morning of the year, everything seems peaceful and quiet as people want to sleep longer to enjoy the moment with their cozy family. However, there are some families getting up early to come back to their hometown to visit their ancestors' graves and relatives. From noon on, everybody go to their neighbors' houses to wish them a happy new year. Children in new clothes are very excited, as they will get lucky money from adults.

There are many activities to welcome new coming spring in this occasion. Children usually take up pens to write their first essay, hoping for good results in school. In spring festivals, everyone especially the young takes part in the traditional games such as rollercoaster, tug of war, cooking rice, cock fighting etc. to express their happiness while farmers wish for bumper crops. Women often go to pagodas to show Buddha their hearts and wish their families good things and power to avoid bad lucks. During the first days of New Year, Vietnamese people do things that are supposed to be good for themselves and their loved ones such as wearing red clothes, buying salt, taking chance or praying... and avoid saying taboos(related to death, breaking...). Each region in Vietnam has it own customs to celebrate Tet, which are very special and unique.

"Tet" is the word that is very familiar to Vietnamese people whenever we think about our country. This is the time for family reunion, for festivals, and for people to give love to their loved one. As for me, I enjoy the warm and cozy Tet's atmosphere when all members of my family stay and talk together.

My hometown is Ho Chi Minh City, which is also known as Saigon. This is the biggest city of Vietnam, and it has a lot of interesting things. First, we have to mention the cuisine here. Since this is the biggest financial center of Vietnam, it attracts many people from different parts of the country. Therefore, they bring along with them the featuring foods from their regions, and this make Ho Chi Minh become the biggest food center as well. Second, people and the lifestyle here are also special. It perfectly represents the open style of the South, and it is always busy. The streets are always full of people, and traffic jams is one of the most serious problem here. We can never actually drive on the main roads without being stuck for a few times, and this situation lasts all day long even if it is in the working hours. Third, the citizens work very hard since it is not easy to live in the big city, but they also spend a lot of time and money on entertaining. They love to go to shopping malls, movie theaters and coffee shops. The lights seem never go off here, and people start to go out at the time when most parts of the countries go to sleep. Despite sleeping late, they can go to work very early in the next morning. Going out is considered as a culture of Ho Chi Minh City, and the lifestyle here is very open and active. I love this city a lot, and I think it is worthy for people to live. In my opinion, there is nowhere that can be fun and comfortable like Saigon, so I will live here forever.
