(Trường đại học này là trường đại học mới nhất.)
Giải thích: Trong câu so sánh trường đại học này với các trường đại học còn lại nên ta dùng so sánh nhất. “New” là tính từ ngắn nên ta thêm đuôi -est.
2. The jeans are less expensive than the dress.
(Quần jeans ít đắt tiền hơn váy/ đầm.)
Giải thích: Trong câu có “than” nên ta dùng so sánh hơn. “The jeans” rẻ hơn “the dress” (30 đô so với 50 đô) + “expensive” là tính từ dài → less expensive
3. Ngoc's sister is busier than her.
(Chị gái của Ngọc bận rộn hơn cô ấy.)
Giải thích: Trong câu có “than” nên ta dùng so sánh hơn. “Busy” là tính từ có hai âm tiết kết thúc bằng “y” nên ta sử dụng như tính từ ngắn. → busier
